Come learn some beginning art skills with Miss Susan and Miss Pam. Miss Susan is a local teacher that has a passion for art and has taught numerous courses to students at the elementary level. She teaches students some of the basics of art and learning to draw while incorporating an educational lesson at the same time. Susan will read a book related to the art project of the day as well. This will be a drop off program.

In Snapology’s Amusement Park Engineering class, students will become engineers of their own amusement park rides and will learn the core physics and engineering concepts used to make a ride thrilling! GAMEBOT ROBOTICS Calling all gamers! Have a blast creating robotic games each week while learning about robotics. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, programming, and pulleys as they create fun to play games. Whether creating a robotic hockey player or a ring toss, your child is sure to have fun building, learning, and playing.SCIENCE OF SUPERPOWERS In Snapology's Science of Superpowers program, students explore the world of their favorite superheroes. Students will learn about forces, energy, and problem solving as they build models inspired by Superman, Batman, and all their favorite heroes. Experimentation and fun are crucial components of this ‘super’ educational program!

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. Only four people can play at once so there will be a rotation.

At the end of our class, the children will have nutritious and delicious food to share with their families.In the Sous Chef Program, we are excited to encourage our sous chefs to learn about culinary tools, correct cooking techniques, and kitchen safety. The children will be encouraged to use their own creativity to modify recipes to their taste preferences. Throughout the class, we will take short breaks to clean up and have mini dance parties to have some fun during the cooking process. Due to changes in RMV regulations, all Driver's Education course registrations will now be required to go through the Teachers Driving Academy website.**To register, please click here.** Teachers Driving Academy is now offering classes at Walpole. This low fee covers 30 hours of mandatory classroom instruction. There are no hidden fees and there is no charge for the required parent class. Students are asked to bring snacks and drinks from home. They must bring a notebook, pen and a copy of their birth certificate. At least one parent must attend the Parent Class. If you cannot attend during the session the student is registered for, you may attend during another session. If you have already attended the parent class in the last 5 years then your already covered as they last for five years. You do not have to attend Walpole High School or be a Walpole resident to attend.

Are you looking for a better relationship with your body? Interested in reducing stress eating, abandoning yo-yo dieting and overcoming food struggles?Trim Life is not a diet program. It is a 6-week integrated group hypnotherapy weight release program that utilizes mindfulness, hypnosis and journaling to empower you to manage hunger and weight by working with mind, body and spirit.Participants will learn to utilize mindfulness,hypnosis and journaling to manage hunger and weight.  We will utilize educational and experiental components to develop a new relationship with food and experience a sense of enthusiasm, rather than deprivation around nourishing our bodies.Please bring a yoga mat. The $50 materials fee is included in this price and those materials you take home weekly and are yours to keep at the end of the program.

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM    HALF-DAY CAFE - Half Day CafĂ© (December)
Half Day Cafés are back and revamped! Same great time but all new fun! We are also now inviting 3rd graders! Each Half day we will have a series of events. Each event will be scored by the school you attend. At the end of the events, the school/team with the most points will win a prize!! We will also keep track all year and the team that wins the most will get the super prize! Participation is not mandatory but as with everything we do strongly encouraged. The events will be different every time, and you will never know what's happening on a particular Friday. Some examples are basketball, crossword puzzles, dodge ball, toothpick and marshmallow sculptures, indoor snowball fights, brain teasers and so much more! You must be a student in one of the four Walpole Public Elementary Schools to attend this program.

Students are asked to bring snacks and drinks from home. They must bring a notebook, pen and a copy of their birth certificate. At least one parent must attend the Parent Class. If you cannot attend during the session the student is registered for, you may attend during another session. If you have already attended the parent class in the last 5 years then your already covered as they last for five years. You do not have to attend Walpole High School or be a Walpole resident to attend.

Group Piano LessonsA Group Piano Class is an exciting introduction to piano and music skills for beginning level music students. The goal of the course is not only to develop a solid musical foundation in piano, but most importantly to instill in the student a genuine love and appreciation for music. A group atmosphere is often more beneficial and enjoyable for beginning level students because they are motivated by their peers, but are also allowed to progress at their own rate. Basic piano skills, such as proper hand positions, posture, note reading, and technique, will be taught. Students will learn how to play age appropriate music step by step. They will learn to listen to each other while playing, developing of a better sense of rhythm and tempo.No previous experience is required. If you don't have a keyboard at home, you can rent one from Ivy Music for an additional fee of $70 for the entire 12-week period.Guitar Lessons (Beginner)This class is an introduction to guitar playing. We will begin by studying both the names of the notes on each string and the basic open position chords. Next, we will focus on the art of strumming and then apply this core knowledge to create basic accompaniments for a wide variety of popular tunes. Basic improvisation and use of the capo are also covered. This class is suitable for the absolute beginner. Please provide your own guitar for the lessons.Guitar Lessons (Intermediate) - Guitar StylesEssential rhythm and lead guitar techniques are explored, focusing on Blues, Jazz, Rock and Classical styles. Other styles covered are Country, Pop, Folk, Flamenco and Heavy Metal. This class is suitable for students who already have a strong working knowledge of basic open position chords. The instruments will be provided by Ivy Music Academy at no additional cost. Ukelele LessonsEven if you’ve never played the ukulele before, you will be picking and strumming along with a collection of ten popular Beatles songs by the end of this nine-week course.Beginning with just one simple basic chord, each week we will progressively add more chords, and build on our knowledge to learn: “Within You, Without You”, “Eleanor Rigby”, “Tomorrow Never Knows”, “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da”, “Love Me Do”, “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away”, “Let It Be”, “Glass Onion”, “Something”, and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. Please provide your own soprano or concert ukulele for the lessons. Come join F.A.S.T. Athletics for some street hockey fun. Fundamentals of hockey will be taught through training stations the first portion of the course. One-timers, passing, shooting and dribbling will be some of the training focus in the beginning. After the instructional period is over, each day will end with a good old fashion street hockey game. At the beginning of class; we will remind the students of safety and good sportsmanship.Please bring water and a mouthguard.Floor Hockey will be played in the upstairs gym at Blackburn Hall.
