Credit Card Convenience Fee

For many years, the Walpole Recreation Department has accepted credit and debit cards for payments of program fees and paid the processing charges imposed by the credit card companies on those transactions. As the use of these cards has increased, these charges have become prohibitively expensive for the Recreation Department.
 
As a service to our registrants, we will continue to accept credit and debit cards for the payment of user fees. The Recreation Department however can no longer afford to absorb the additional costs associated with these transactions. For this reason, a convenience fee program to minimize these costs will be implemented beginning April 1, 2017.
 
This fee will include the following:
  • A 3% fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments to offset the processing fee the Department must pay to the credit card processor.
  • Credit and debit cards still may not be accepted over the phone, however can be accepted in person and on our website at WalpoleRec.com.
 
We will continue to accept cash or checks in person at our location at Blackburn Memorial Hall, located at 30 Stone Street.

The savings realized from the convenience fee program will be used to support the programs and the mission of the Recreation Department and to help ensure the quality of the experience for the Walpole public.
